EMERGENCY MINUTE

​Dr. Parente is a physician practicing in Northeast Ohio. He specializes in the field of Emergency Medicine and has achieved the highest level of training with his board certification in Emergency Medicine. His journey began in Brook Park and Middleburg Heights, Ohio as he attended St. John Bosco School and later went on to Padua Franciscan high School. He then attended John Carroll University receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Biology. He headed south and attended medical school at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. After graduating medical school, he completed his residency for 3 years at Akron City Hospital part of the Summa Health System. He immediately passed his written board exam and subsequently oral board exam and became a fully board certified emergency medicine physician.

 

He has worked in many emergency departments in Northeast and Northwest Ohio treating over 100,000 patients. He has been the director of an emergency department for over a decade in his career. He specializes in emergency department throughput as well as process improvement. He is extremely passionate about health care and his patients, and is fiercely loyal to his physician assistant​s​, nurses, and staff. He loves to teach​ (OU faculty, core faculty) ​ and has ​mentored and educated hundreds of physicians, student physicians, and Physician Assistant students. He is a Professor for Ohio University and is a Core Faculty member for the ER residency at St. John Medical Center.

 

When he is not treating patients in the emergency department, he loves to spend time with his wife, three children, and his dog. He strives to be the best father, husband, and family man. He loves to travel, especially to the Caribbean and other tropical destinations. He does this to cope with all of the sadness that comes with being a Cleveland sports fan as he is a huge Browns, Cavs, and Guardians/Indians fan. He also loves his Ohio State buckeyes. He enjoys watching his oldest son excel in football, baseball, and basketball. His daughter brings him tremendous joy when he's able to hear her play her electric guitar. He loves to watch fighter jet videos and funny dog videos with his youngest son.
